Student Orientation


Orientation is conducted on the first day of course commencement. its purpose is to fully inform new students of most aspects of life at the institute and provide an introduction to studying, living in Sydney, transportation, facilities and accommodation. In addition our staff will be introduced to you and you will have an opportunity to ask any questions you have. Orientation includes information on:
  • A site campus tour and introduction to Evolution Hospitality Institute(RTO# 91256) staff and trainers.
  • What is expected of you, including behaviour requirements.
  • Student support services available in the transition to life and study in a new environment.
  • Visa requirements – Academic and Attendance.
  • Course requirements and resources.
  • Work placement requirements.
  • Complaints and appeals processes.
  • Further study options that are available during and after the course of study.
  • Emergency and Health Services.
Remember to:
  • Bring your passport & a copy of your passport as a form of Identification.
  • Complete your USI (Unique Student Identifier) Form prior to starting (information below).
  • Complete your Sizing of your Uniform at Johnsons. (information below)
  • Your international student Overseas Student Health cover (OSHC) if applicable.
  • Original Transcripts and Certificates.

Unique Student Identifier (USI)

From 1 January 2015, all students undertaking study that is considered as nationally recognised training in Australia are to obtain a Unique student Identifier (USI). The USI is available online and is no cost to the student. The USI is a reference number made up of a series of numbers and letters that will provide you with access to your online account that contains all you training records and results (transcript) that you have completed from the 1 January 2015 onwards.
Your results from 2015 will be available in your USI account in 2016.
If you don’t have a USI, you won’t be able to receive recognition for training and training providers cannot, by law, issue you a Certificate, Statement of Attainment or Transcript for your training
To create your Unique Student Identifier click on the following link, Create your USI (link).
Once you have created a USI you will be required to give this number to the Evolution Administration Team. Download the following form USI Form and attach this with your enrolment form and a copy of your identification used to create your USI.

  • SIT31016 – Certificate III in Patisserie
  • SIT30816 – Certificate III in Commercial Cookery
  • SIT31116 – Certificate III in Asian Cookery
  • SIT30616 – Certificate III in Hospitality
  • SIT50416 – Diploma of Hospitality Management (Commercial Cookery or Patisserie Pathway)
Required resources are included in the tuition fees:

  • Toolkit

E-Learning Resources

You will receive a login and password on orientation day that will allow you to login to our E-learning Platform (Moodle)
The Moodle E-learning resource holds your entire course learning outcomes and this is where all your theory notes and assessments are undertaken. Your trainer will be able to communicate with you in relation to your course study outcomes through this platform. There will be a demonstration of how to use the E learning platform (Moodle) at orientation and then again in your initial class.

Go to Johnsons to receive your sizing for your uniform for Cookery, Hospitality, Patisserie Students.
To receive your uniform on orientation day, please ensure you go to Johnsons to complete your sizing for your Uniform.
