Remember to:
Bring your passport, Induction letter, letter of offer and your CoE.
If you have a laptop and uniform/toolkits you will be using for the course, you must bring it to induction day.
Orientation is conducted on the first day of course commencement. It is compulsory for all new Evolution Students and its purpose is to fully inform new students of most aspects of life at the Institute and provide an introduction to studying, living in Sydney, transportation, facilities and accommodation. In addition, our staff will be introduced to you and you will have an opportunity to ask any questions you have.
Orientation includes information on:
- Us and our Mission Statement
- What is expected of you
- Training Facility locations and information
- Visa requirements – Academic and Attendance
- Course requirements and resources
- Further study options that are available during and after the course of study
- Health and Safety
There may also be a guest speaker. Read the student handbook carefully, as it contains all the information presented to you at Orientation.
ID Cards
You will be issued a student card with your name photograph and student number on your orientation day. You will also receive a card holder that attaches to your clothing and you will be required to wear this ID card at all times while on campus.
Course Resources
Students studying certain courses need to provide some of their own resources. A list of the resource requirements can be found HERE, or ask Reception. Evolution has listed suppliers where you can purchase these resources, but you are welcome to get them from anywhere you wish. Please note, however, that resources must meet the requirements listed. If you do not have resources listed, or they do not meet requirements you will not be able to start your course.
If you are enrolling or enrolled in a Certificate III Course, you will need to bring a full chef’s uniform, full toolkit and laptop computer. Please see the ‘Student Resource requirements’ list for full requirements. These resources are stored on a USB stick, for use on your laptop computer during class, and you will receive them at your orientation or during your first theory class.

You will receive a login and password at your induction day that will allow you to login to your details in our student management system. You will be able to see your unit results, current attendance and update your personal details.
Please keep your password safe to ensure the privacy of your information. If you lose or forget your password, please contact Reception and we will reset your password and notify you by email.
Please adhere that attending student orientation is compulsory and it is a part of your lesson. If you do not attend the student orientation without any reasonable reasons, your CoE might be cancelled.
