This course is designed to cover the skills and knowledge required to reponsibly sell or serve alcohol and to satisfy the requirements for responsible sale of alcohol under State or Territory legislation.
 
This course covers the RSA skills and knowledge requirements common to the State of New South Wales.
 
This RSA training course involves the successful completion of the unit SITHFAB009A - Provide responsible Service of Alcohol from the Tourism, Hospitality & Events Training package SIT07.
 
This course is recognised under the Australian Quality Training Framework and satisfies all requirements of
the NSW Casino, Liquor, Gaming Control Authority for those wishing to work in the NSW hospitality industry.
 
Course Content 
The course is a competency-based program covering the following areas:
  • July 2008 changes to the Liquor Act
  • The Liquor Act and the Liquor Industry Code of Conduct
  • Legislative framework for responsible Service of Alcohol
  • Identifying the context of Responsible Service of Alcohol
  • Awareness and prevention of drink-driving
  • Measuring the outcomes of Responsible Service of alcohol on premises
  • The impact of alcohol abuse
  • Intoxication - indicators and offences
  • Responsible promotion of alcohol
  • Health-related issues
  • Police powers
This course is suited to:
  • Licensees
  • All staff working on licensed premises
  • Approved managers
  • Security officers
Assessment & Completion Standard
Upon successful completion of a written test, participants receive a Statement of Attainment as well as a Casino, Liquor Gaming Control Authority (CLGCA) certificate.
 
Booking is essential for these classes.
