Basic Food Handlers Course

This course is for people handling food in a café, restaurant, school canteen, hotel, supermarkets, fast food outlet, sandwich shop, catering operations or other food retail outlets, under supervision.

You will learn how to identify and control food hazards, prevent contamination of food that may lead to food borne illnesses and accurately report on food contamination incidents and hygiene hazards.

None required. 

This course requires a good command of written English. Participants must be able to interact with others as part of a team, both customers and staff, with the ability to read and write to enable effective comprehension relating to the course.  

This will course will require attendees to have English skills at a base level of 5.5 IELTS Level to be able to achieve competency against this unit of competence.

Food handling course Level 1 course participants will receive the nationally recognised unit of competency Statement of Attainment for:

  • SITXFSA001 Use hygienic practices for food safety
This course is to be completed within 20 days of course enrolment.
Sydney CBD, directly opposite Town Hall with easy access for all public transport services.
This course is completed via online / e-learning.
This will be undertaken through both written questions and portfolio of evidence.
